Goals
The main objective of this project is to implement a meteorological station (weather station), the station must acquire meteorological data and visualize them on the internet website.
-The measured physical phenomena are: ambient temperature, air humidity, wind speed and direction, local atmospheric pressure, local rainfall index.
-To carry out the project, the main requirements are defined:
-The system shall record the date and time of all measurements.
-Provide the data in real time and have the possibility of exporting to sites that forecast the weather.
-Allow remote access by making use of encryption and security protocols.
-Allow to archive data for possible local wind studies.
-Allow the clock synchronization from the internet.
-The system should be compatible with the standards of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
The project is divided into two major modules. The first module consists of the sensor interfacing and data acquisition solution. The second module consists of the data processing and publication solution.
The Arduino is the basis of the first component. It is used to collect sensor data. Once the sensor readings are received, checked and converted, the Arduino stores them for later retrieval by the second module. The communication between modules is can be made through a SPI bus. The second module is based on a Raspberry Pi . Each data record received by the Raspberry Pi can be uploaded to an online data repository. Additionally, the Raspberry Pi hosts an Apache web server, responsible for the generation of a web page with graphical representation of the acquired data. The web page has a section for display the forecast weather. The forecast is obtained from a weather service web page.
I have long history with raspberry and beaglebone. I designed lot of boards that sens different weather staff. Worked with all the mentioned sensors. What is the timeline?
