Landscape Design for Two Beds

We have recently put a walkway along the side of our house and are looking for somebody to design a landscaping plan for two rock-bordered areas with plants that would be appropriate for our zone in Seattle Washington. Plants need to be able to grow in the shade or part shade. Box A is rectangular shaped, about 9 feet long. One end is about 3 feet wide and the other is 2 feet wide. Box B is square about 5‘ x 5‘. Box B Is near the corner of the house so we were thinking of something tall, perhaps contained bamboo. My husband would like to do the physical work so we are just looking for a garden design. I would like to give a design as a gift to my husband for Christmas so I am looking for something before December 25.
