Python Script Validate Host Config

I am looking for someone who can create a python script that can read an input file (preferable to be a variable and not static) and determine if entry is an IPaddress or a DNS entry. GOAL is to validate if entry is live and what records are associated then provide output in the following format based on results. IPaddress,FQDN,A-Record,PTR-Record,Active If IPaddress is provided from input file, record IPAddress in output file, then attempt to find FQDN. Script would perform a reverse lookup to identify if PTR record exists Maybe dig -x IPaddress +short Record result in FQDN column in column (if no response, enter no response in column and mark the PTR field as none Script would also attempt to see if the host is live. Possibly ping IPaddress and provide results in active column as live or no response If FQDN name is provided then record in output file and Attempt to resolve fully qualified domain name (example: [login to view URL]) and identify IP address using dig. Script would perform a lookup for the a-record Maybe dig [login to view URL] +short and provide result in output file in the IPaddress field and also record a-record field as yes if up is provided or none if no IP is provided. NOTE: it’s possible CNAME is provided, please capture there is a CNAME for the FQDN. Input file would include a list of servers and/or IP addresses Example: (could be hundreds) [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL]
