Job Description
• Assesses the medical condition of patient by interviewing, accurately reviewing medical
history, and performing physical examinations
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests
• Consults with physician concerning patient health plan and treatment
• Prescribes or recommends medical drug or therapeutic treatments
• Documents patient care by accurately charting patient services
• Counsels patients and families about health status and treatment plan
• Complies with local, state, and federal legal requirements and professional standards to
maintain a safe, healthy, and secure work environment
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to confidentiality policy
• Performs other related work requested by the supervising physician or center manager
Minimum Qualifications
• Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Current applicable state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant or ability to obtain
licensure upon the date of hire
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants.
Current certification dependent upon specific position to include Basic Life Support
(CPR)
• Annual TB screening required
• Fingerprinting, depending on state
