This is a small development project to develope a pathway for generating an interactive 3D PDF scene in the Adobe Acrobat or Adobe PDF Reader. This project will use an alternative compression method for U3D. The PDF standard currently allows for import of 3D data structures attached as 3D annotations in a PDF file. When openned, users can interact in 3D with pan, zoom, rotate, selection, etc. This project is to develop a new small set of C++ classes with a sample main() command line application that will generate a suitable scene using the an alternative data compression method, which will be provided to the coder. Base library is in C++ and will be supplied to coder. Buyer will supply method embed 3D annotation into a PDF file. Project Outline: 1. Review supplied specification of new compression method. This is publically available, web link will be provided. 3. Prototype development, Decoding existing files 4. Prototype development, Encoding, generating new files 5. Supply source code to buyer, PDF output files with each status report. Source should be well-commented and well structured. 6. Write up findings in a technical report, describing issues encountered, both successfull and unsuccessful, most likely pathways for further investigation and development, software architecture issues.
