Dear Concern, An IT professional with 7 years of cross-platform experience in Systems Administration including • Security Analysis & Hardening • Performance Tuning and Optimization • Migration of environments • Designing, Installing & Maintaining Servers of Windows and Linux flavors • Network Management • Virtualization • Monitoring I glad to say that for previous company I have configured Nagios server to monitor Network devices, ports, services and resources. Deployment for monitoring services was huge, so I have configured distributed Nagios server to share load. I will configure given services/resources to monitor through Nagios but I don't recommend to monitor windows error. Through windows error notification the flow of mail increases and also there are the chances where you may miss any important alert notification. If you have static IP addresses, then you have open port 12489 for Windows and for Linux 5666. And if you have dynamic IP address, then there is no need of opening ports. Also let me know at what interval you want the alert notification. The recommend and standard way is 5 minutes. If you have any query/doubt then let me know. Regards, Jagdeep Singh Skype - Jaggyd86
