I have working experience with NowSMS, Clickatell and Logica SMSC Client. One of the modules for a project I have worked on is responsible for sending/receiving SMS @ 20-30 SMS/second. Both incoming and outgoing SMS are stored in a MySQL database, with provision for delivery reports (and resend if required). Sending/receiving SMS is pretty straight forward, but it does depend on the brand/model number of your GSM modem. For simple tests, I use a iTegno GPRS modem, but for sending bulk SMS, I use NowSMS. I previously used Clickatell previously for another project, but the only downside of it was the cost (approxmately 8 US cents vs 3 US cents, if sent using local SIM). I have 5 years working experience with Java, JSPs/Servlets, Javascript & MySQL.
