Optimise Joomla 2.5 with Gantry Framework (trial job)

The purpose of this job is to find applicants that are willing to go the extra mile. Website Details: Joomla 2.5.3 Template is FutureProspects v.1.4.0 on Gantry Framework v3.2.17 JCH_Optimize plugin has been installed and configured ([login to view URL]) Joomla Caching (progressive) is enabled and gzip should be running on the server. Current load-time for homepage is approx 7s (9s to onload) 70 requests - 1.3Mb Grade D on YSlow (67) Tasks: - Remove redundant css & js - include more js & css files in the minified script without causing conflicts - optimise/delay script loading - move inline styles and scripts added by extensions to external - suggest other optimisations to decrease load time. This should all be done in a way that does not prevent upgrading of joomla, gantry or the components. All work would be carried out on a testing server and committed to a git repository before being deployed to the live site. -- We are looking for an individual or team that wants to produce above-average websites on an ongoing basis. Our agency's main focus is Magento, Joomla and wordpress. Ideal applicants would be proficient in html5, css3, jquery and modern templating frameworks such as warp and gantry. Separation of presentation and content via progressive enhancement (or graceful degradation) is important, as is semantic markup and experience with responsive design. Ability to create cross-client html email would be highly regarded. Ability to use git version control is a must. Applicants should have strong communication skills, attention to detail and a complete elance profile as well as being able to work without supervision and deliver to deadlines.
