osCommerce/osCMax Admin session issues

I have a current website which uses only the admin side of osCommerce. For some reason the admin is having issues with the login/sessions. We need to modify the sessions to be open for 12 hours, and the user only needing to login once a day. I am open to suggestions on how to do this.
