I have built a dynamic website using HTML, PHP and MySQL ([login to view URL]) following examples from David Powers' book "Foundation PHP and Dreamweaver 8". Im not a PHP or MySQL expert but I followed along and achieved what I thought I needed. The content on the site is contained in a MySQL database. I have built an administrative back end where the owners can add articles, select a category and submit the article. It is then pulled from the database and posted on the appropriate page(s). They can also edit/delete articles and add/delete users and categories. Using Dreamweaver I have created recordsets that tie into the database and pull the required text onto each page. For example, on the blog page I have a dynamic text area that takes the subtitle of the article and displays it, and another dynamic text area that displays the body of the article. The same is true on the other site pages. This is a rather simple setup. However, unless the owners are familiar with HTML they can't add links inside the text they create and enter into the database. Yes, I can put a hyperlink in the text, but they want to be able to do this without knowing HTML. One of the owners wants to be able to use something like Windows Live Writer to be able to add links, photos, style the text where appropriate, etc. (use a WYSIWYG editor) to be able to do this and have it post to the appropriate page. I am concerned first and foremost with the blog page, but it would be nice to have the same ability to post to any other page and add any html needed. Additionally it would be nice if these posts could simultaneously be posted to Facebook or other social networking sites. I would like to build a way for my clients to use Windows Live Writer (or another WSYIWYG editor) to add hyperlinks, insert photos, style text and submit articles to the database and have it post automatically to the appropriate page on the website. Ideally I would like it NOT to change what I have created and the way that it is displayed on the pages (e.g., on the blog page I created a previous/next functionality so visitors can cycle through blog posts). If this is something that can be done, please submit a bid or request any further info you need to know. Thanks! I'll attach the code from the blog page in case that helps.
