I already have codes to detect OS Version and WCF Services to download files. I just need to gather them together according to your needs. With a good and continuous communication between you and me we can complete this project fast and accurate according to your requirements.

It's my daily job to create installation packages. The request is understandable and realizable. - To make the installation routine please provide more details on which Windows version it has to be compatible. - Please let me know if the DLL files have to be registered at the end of the installation. - Would be good to know what is the goal of the application, it is neccessary to decide the best way for autostart: - "service" -> usually used for applications without user interface, the exe file have to be writen in service mode. - "task" -> could be with or without user interface and therefore it runs under user or system account - "auto start entry" can be done via registry or just by placing shortcut inside startup folder - on the other hand is important if you would like to provide deactivation of "auto start entry" via your application via some settings or the deactivation of "auto start entry" can only by done by uninstalling the application. Sorry for going into details here, but more details at the beining can save time on both sides :-) .

As for the downloading part, libcurl is preferred if there aren't other restrictions, since we can easily build a full-featured and flexible downloader based upon it. Some missing details I'd like to know: 1. Should the location of files needing downloading be coded into the source code? 2. "embedded EXE-files + DLL files": Embedded in resources of the host EXE? Is there any compression or encoding? Some missing points to consider: 1. Writing to %ProgramFiles% requires Admin privilege starting from Windows Vista. The scope of this project shouldn't require me to implement UAC bypass under currently proposed budget. 2. Creating autostart entries might be hindered or created entries might be deleted by antivirus software. The scope of this project shouldn't require me to evade AV under currently proposed budget.
