Im fairly certain this can be done quite quickly without going through the apex path that way you can manage it yourself going forward rather than having to revert back to a developer all of the time. I can also do a skype session with you and show you how to manage it going forward. I have exerpience in wrinting Apex code in sales force. I have recently just finshed writing an Apex Trigger for someone to display the "Next Activity Date" in there list views which status is open. To create the trigger you require would be no worries. I would need to create an "After Update" trigger which fires when the identifier is updated. Consideration would need to be given to the amount of updates and location of the updates in the Salesforce database. Additional updated fields can take longer to develop update codes and test class. I would reuire additional information for exactly what you would like. What fields are to be updated. Are the fields Salesforce fields or custom fields. Is the any other Triggers or classes which could be affected. I can check all this for you if you have access to a sandbox which I could login too. The sandbox is also required as the customer trigger would need to be tested and a test class run. Salesforce only imports Triggers from your sandbox once a test class verifies the Trigger.
