I require an application to be written which will run on my Mac. The application needs to screen scrape data from a URL which is:
Upon loading the URL the script must select the 'Short Term' tab, and then prioritise the data by the '1 Month Return %' field. The script must then scrape all of the data for all columns and rows into an Excel sheet. In total there are over 800 entries, which cover multiple pages which will need to be scraped.
When downloaded the script should then apply a rule to the data, which automatically moves any rows of data which meet the rule into a new tab in Excel. The rule is:
'1 Month Return %' is greater than '3 Month Return %'.
Any rows of data which don’t meet that rule should stay in the existing tab. In total there should be two tabs of data in the Excel, one where the rule has been met, another where the rule hasn’t been met.
The script should then save the Excel file with the following naming convention YYYYMMMDD, being today’s date.
The URL destination will need to be configurable for me, on the basis that the website may change the URL.
FOR THIS JOB: No problem. I can do all of the requirements, wrapped nicely in an installable desktop program; but can you raise the project budget a little? Thanks
