Hi, I manage a bunch of websites on AWS that has over 1 million daily visitors. I would love to help you with the project. But a few questions and suggestions first. 1. The job of the consultant here would be just to design the infra or also to build the website? I have put the cost based on both. 2. Whoever you select, do use a CDN in place, for your type of requirement, Cloudflare's $20 plan is perfect if implemented correctly. This way u will save a lot on AWS infra and make the site super resilient aswell. 3. am not sure about the need, but if the payment is happening via PayPal or scroll, technically you don't need to maintain a database locally. which could actually make it possible to run the entire site thru an S3 bucket as HTML plages, which will make it 99.9999999 available at a fraction of cost. we can discuss more on chat if you are interested. Hello, I passed AWS certified solutions architect and have 2 years experience working in AWS cloud computing. I also used to design the redundant website like you requested. Regarding your requirement, Here is the design i propose: - 01 EC2 for webservers with Auto Scaling Group service - 01 RDS instance for Production database and Multi-AZ service for Database failover - In front of EC2 instances, there will be an ELB (Application Load Balancer) Service. - In storage, 2 buckets will be created: 1 bucket for storing code and 1 bucket for storing static media files. - Regarding security, i will create a VPC with 2 subnets inside with 2 security groups: the DMZ security group for EC2 instances subnet and RDS security group for Databases subnet (private subnet). - You said a thousand people will hit the site in an hour so that i think we also need to apply Cloudfront distribution to cache the static media files on edge locations. - Route53 service is also considered for Domain name of the website.

I would propose to use aws lambda .it's infinitely scalable and I think you can get away with almost free with the lambda setup free of cost on infra front as long as the hits are within the limits. further can be discussed over the call or chat.
