Drupal 7 - Update nodes on cron run

I need a module (or configuration of community-contributed modules) to update certain nodes on cron run. I should be able to do this with Rules, but I am falling short. The rule must check all nodes of type "spout_off" where the field "field_sponsored" equals "Sponsored". Then, if "field_spoutoff_publication_date" <= TODAY, set "field_spoutoff_publication_date" = TODAY + 7 DAYS and "field_spoutoff_creation" (also a date field) to "field_spoutoff_creation" + 7 DAYS. Execution of this code must happen automatically; not relying on manual updating or viewing of nodes. I cannot grant FTP/SSH access to the server, but I will work with you to install and configure the code.
