SES with AWE

Dear freelancers, we need to send out a bunch of emails to our users and require a proper setup for this. This requires a one time bulk mailing setup, cleanup and also long term option to send out mailings to thousends of users via SES on AWS without being penalized. Status Quo: We have half a million emails in our mailing list which we gathered over the last 10 years (all double opt-in). 5 years ago we started tracking bounces (hard/soft) so we now from a small portion that they will bounce. A lot of the recipients did not recieve any mailings so we don´t know if they are valid or not. 1. Challenge: We need to send out a messsage to all recipients that we currently don´t have any bounce record. We are sending emails to our users via SES and thus need to keep a low bounce rate to not be blocked. What´s your take on it? What would be your approach? 2. Challenge: The first challenge gives us the opportunity to clear out the bouncing mails so that we get a clear mailing list. The next challenge is how to properly send out bulk mailings to those hundreds of thousends - without getting blacklisted - without it taking days to send out those mailings We are running a large community in germany and want to reach out to our users more often via email and are looking for a proper solution to solve this. We are running on AWS and can make use of SES, SNS. SQS and other AWS services but are not tied to them. What would be your approach to to build a proper service for this? Some words about our team and setup. - Our main developer team is remote in poland - Stories and Tasks are handled in JIRA/Confluence - We are communicating via Slack - We do chat via Hangout - Our local development enviroment will be setup on your machine via Vagrant - All application specific configuration are done in Ansible What´s important for us - you should speak and write fluent english - we can have chats via webcam - you are nice person to work with.
