Hi Designers, We are manufacturers of household equipment. BBQ and grills and smokers are our main products. Our company name is Bradley Smoker and website is [login to view URL] We would like to introduce a new - redesigned line of products. Before getting our manufacturing happening we would like to review the design concepts first. In this exercise we would like to have a design done for our food smokers. There will be 4 different sizes in this new line of smokers. Our smoker consists of 2 main components: 1. Smoke generator 2. Smoke oven. Smoke generator is a device which generates smoke. Smoke is generated by burning a sawdust bisquettes in the hot plate. Usually bisquette is smoldering 20 minutes and it will be pushed out to the water bowl by advancing new bisquette. Bisquettes are pre-stacked into to a feeder tube by the user. Smoke generator has some controls mounted on the front for the customer to use. We are planning to implement one rotary dial with a small LCD panel as a reference screen of the selections. Smoke generator is fastened on the side of the cabinet by magnet strip or other mechanical means for easy removal. Smoker cabinet is a simple box with insulation between inner and outer skin. Cabinet has adjustable smoke exhaust damper/vent on top of the cabinet. Cabinet it's self will have different bright color schemes, red, green, white, yellow painted based on the customer order. But for the starters let’s start with cherry or ruby red. Inside cabinet will be made out of 0.6mm stainless steel sheet metal. Outer skin is regular 0.6mm mild steel which will be prepped for paint. Between the inner and outer layer ( vertical side walls , back wall and door ) we have 25 mm layer of ceramic insulation. Sealing is 44 mm with same insulation and the bottom will be 75 mm with same insulation Door is fixed to the cabinet with two hinges. It will be fastened with two latches and perhaps a pull handle if it fits into the design concept. Cabinet sits on two adjustable feet at the front and 2 imbedded wheels at the back. For moving the cabinet around the smoker needs to be tilted backwards and have a pull handle which can be hidden at the back of the smoker when not in use. Back wall needs to have a small 100 x 100 mm hatch. It serves as an access changing the temperature sensor. It can be held with one screw only. Overall design concept should include smooth lines and rounded corners (perhaps like retro fridges in ’50 with today’s modern touch) to attract customers. It needs to stand out and invite customers to take a closer look. We will re-use our inner molds and racks we are currently own. Outer dimensions will vary based on your design although the insulation and wall thicknesses were already discussed above.
