Jquery/Ajax/javascript load files from xml, error check if files dont exists

Hello, we have a local html video player that plays files on a usb. Very simple setup. we need to simply output the files into a list to play. BUT what we need is a way to check if all of the videos exist and if so to hide the play button for that file. For example File list [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] These files will be display in the html as simple filename links to play the videos in the player. BUT if [login to view URL] doesnt exist I only want to out put the html link for the remaining files. This will all be done on a local file system, not on server, it has to run off a usb, Any suggestions how we can error check an xml or any <li> elment etc for if the video file exists

Are you trying to sell videos on pen drives for offline playback? If so we have technologies that allow sale of protected content on pen drives.
