Transfer of ASP Sites and Database to New Server

I am attempting to transfer some asp websites to a new server. I have transferred all sites and IIS settings using WebDeploy. The database has been backed up and restored to the new server also, along with all database logins and users. The server is Windows 2008. All the sites use the same database and connection string. Database is SQL Server Express 2008 Having done all this, I cannot get the sites to work on the new server. They seem to display the html put not any of the ASP script of data from the database. I need help troubleshooting the new server to work out what is wrong.
