In addition to my experience working with C++, I am an Adjunct Professor at a college in Texas where one of the courses I teach is Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) in C++. As you mentioned you have experience with some of the fundamentals of programming, below are some of the topics I would cover with you in our initial sessions:
- Quick review of what you know, so I can better tailor our one-on-one sessions to your abilities
-- What work have you already done in C++?
-- Are you familiar with passing by value vs passing by reference?
-- Are you familiar with pointers?
- The basics of object-oriented programming
-- Key concepts and terminology (class, instantiaion, class relationships, inheritance, etc.)
-- Creating a single class
-- Containing classes in other classes
-- Inheriting from a class
After this, we could take things in a number of directions, based on your interests and needs. For our sessions, we could meet on Hangouts, Skye, or some other platform, if you prefer. Depending on your learning style I could also provide supplementary reading materials, work assignments, etc.
As I mentioned before, I'm in Texas, so I'm in US Central time zone, which should make syncing up relatively easy in the evening or on weekends. I'm also fairly accessible, so if you need an ad hoc session, I can likely accommodate it.
One thing to note is that building a trading application is a very large undertaking (months-years), but we will cover material to equip you to get there!
