Programming ESP32 module for defrost cycle for use on a fridge

The defrost cycle is not working on my home fridge. My home fridge uses the newer "Adaptive Defrost" cycle that is run by a microcontroller on the motherboard of the fridge. I don't want to replace the motherboard just for this problem so I want to bypass the problem with my own defrost control using an external ESP32 wifi-switch. EXPLANATION OF ADAPTIVE DEFROST Adaptive Defrost Adaptive Defrost can be described as a defrost system that adapts to a refrigerator’s surrounding environment and household usage. Unlike conventional defrost systems that use electromechanical timers with a fixed defrost cycle time, Adaptive Defrost utilizes an intelligent, electronic control to determine when the defrost cycle is necessary. In order to accomplish the correct defrost cycle time, the main control board monitors the following refrigerator operations: Length of time the compressor has run since the last defrost cycle. Amount of time the defrost heaters were on in the last defrost cycle. I plan on using this ESP32 module with relay: [login to view URL] There will be two inputs to the ESP32 from the fridge: 1. A digital signal that is "1" when the compressor is running. 2. An analog input that monitors the temperature of the freezer compartment. Program: Three user defined variables: 1. Threshold temperature to turn off the defrost heater (i.e., never let the freezer temperature rise above this temperature) 2. Amount of time the compressor is to run before turning on the defrost heater 3. Amount of time to run the defrost heater, however, shut off the defrost heater regardless when the threshold hold temperature has reached. Create a simple web interface (this is not a commercial product so don't spend time making the web interface pretty) that allows me to enter these variables. They should be stored in flash so they will be maintained when there is power loss. When the compressor run time has been reached, wait for the compressor to finish the current cycle and then turn on the defrost heater. You do not need to program any "smart algorithm", I will monitor and adjust the variables myself over time. Program should run even without wifi. On the web interface, I would like to see a simple log of activities such as compressor run time, defrost time, temperature etc. If you proceed, you will order the above board (or another board that you can recommend) for yourself, I will reimburse you for the board at the end of the project and you get to keep the board.
