Every week I export a profit and loss statement to excel that contains income and expenses for each contractor that we do business with. My goal is to organize this data by contractor and to be able to show each contractor their graphs and tables of how they each are doing individually. This needs to be done with basically automatically, except I am willing to have to choose a drop down for the charts and date ranges.

My talent is taking large amounts of data and creating an interface that can be manipulated by the end user. I set files up so the user can run multiple "What-if" scenarios. The project as you defined it is very doable within your budget. One of my key advantages is I am a native English speaker and create Excel charts and presentations for a large Fortune 100 company, so I understand what you are trying to accomplish from a business standpoint. My plan is to provide versions of the file as I go along so you can provide corrections as needed. Here is how I would approach the project. #1 Link the worksheets to the Quickbooks report, so the file will update every time you paste new data. This could be done within a day of project award. #2 Creating historical record of the data. I will add a button (with VBA macro) to go through each tab and copy the data from column B to the next available column. We will need to add a table for each contract so you can add/delete contractors without rewriting the VBA code. #3 Creating reports. Several options here. Bar charts for net income or expenses and income. Line chart. I imagine there will be some back and forth at this stage to get you what you want. I have some other ideas that might work for a follow-up project. What version of Excel are you using? Is your plan to just copy paste the Quickbooks report on top of the existing data?

Hi, I am a native English speaking Finance professional with over 15 years experience using Excel. I can set up your spreadsheet and build your reporting for you. I would propose to complete your spreadsheet by: - Setting up VLOOKUP formulas in each of your sales staff sheets to read from your Quick Books export - this would be able to be copied to any new sales staff with just a change in name. (I would enable this by including a cell at the top to enter the contractors name and initials). - Setting up a Macro to copy the data from row B to whichever row is relevant. There may need to be additional data entry somewhere in the file if names and sheets of contractors change (if you want this completely set up automatically); - Building a report that allows you to select the contractor and the weeks that you want analysed. I would propose to do this by either having hidden cells that pick up the data to analyze, or by creating a new sheet that the reports would run off. I think the best way to approach this project is to create pivot tables around the data and create the reports and charts from those pivot tables.
