Shopify Store - Google Ad Global Site Tab Setup Not Working

I have followed the instructions by adding the Global Site Tag and gtag code in the Additional scripts section of the checkout but when I use Google Tag Assistant to verify the tag it does not work. I also placed 7 test ordered on the shopify store and no conversions are showing in Google Ads Shopping campaign. Need someone who can fix this issue quickly. Should be something very easy but I am not very experienced in this.
