Outlook Addin / Plugin to connect to remote database

Greetings, webdesigneu. I'm pleased to inform you that I'm already half way done with this project, though it's harder than you think. What makes it painful is the requirement to support Outlook 2000 - 2013. Four separate office addins are required: one for Outlook 2000 - 2006 , another for 2007, another for 2010, and finally one for Outlook 2013. In order to create all these addins, you need 3 versions of Visual Studio, 3 operating systems, and 4 versions of Microsoft office (for testing). Are you sure you really need to support 2000 - 2006 as it requires digging up some very old Microsoft developer software, which has long since been removed from the shelves. You will also find complete, detailed instructions (with screen shots) for installation. I've tested both versions, and my contacts have been updated as expected. I'm definitely on top of this project, and have the necessary software (for versions later than 2007). If you really need support for earlier versions, I will find a way to make it happen. Hello wendesigneu, After looking at your project, I have to say that it is quite easy, I have delivered many Add-Ins with features like the ones you request, these are actually very common. I am an IT Engineer and I work exclusively with Outlook Add-Ins. Most Outlook Add-Ins usually contains communications with external sources (applications, servers, databases, etc). This communication may be to upload or download data to or from Outlook. In any case, the solution is practically the same and I can surely help you with your project, so you can get the best results out of your requirements. BTW, in your project description you mention something about the Outlook compatibility, and includes a range from "2000" to 2013, did you mean 2000 or 2010? In case you need compatibility with very old Outlook versions, I could use Add-In Express to get those versions at an additional cost, and I think it would get as far as 2003. Plugin would be compatible with Office 2010 - 2013, not with Office 2000 or 2007 (might work with 2007 + latest service pack). Some points need clarification: 1. Does the software need to detect duplicate contacts? 2. Can this be a standalone utility which can connect to the remote MySQL server and synchronize the Outlook Contact folder? 3. How will the existing contacts be identified? We have written the following Outlook based utilities: 1. Contact Merge utility called "outlook search and merge" 2. Outlook imap archiver Both these are listed on Google search and available for free download. Can you provide a sample of the mysql db with a few contacts for testing.
