I would like to build an HSM (Hierarchical Storage Management) reparse point driver/dll. I believe that the [_Windows Installable File System Kit for Windows 2003 SP1 and below_][1] would be the way to go. So I am looking for someone who is familiar with it and with HSM Reparse Points and how they work. Here is the scenario; Existing Components: 1, A Windows File Server 2, Multiple users connected to individual shares on the server 3, Backup software 4, A program to scan for specific files and call the backup software to backup these files then leave a stub file behind. Solution required: 1, A driver/dll that could be called to create an HSM Reparse Point in the place of the files that are backed up. 2, It must support all Windows platforms starting with WinNT. 3, It must be able to utilize the backup software restore command to restore the files when a user access thestub file. Example: a, My program will scan for files that match a certain criteria on the File Server and call the Backup Software to backup these files to Tape, or Disk, or what ever. b, It will then call the HSM Reparse Point driver/dll to create an HSM Reparse Point in the place of the files that are backed up leaving a "STUB" file behind. c, When the "STUB" file is accessed the Reparse Point Driver should be intelligent enough to execute a routine in my program that determines whether the file should be restored. If it is ok to restore the file then my program will call the Backup software RESTORE command to retrieve the file. d, The process should be transparent to the users so that if they do a file-open from an application or double click a stub file it triggers the Reparse Point Driver into action. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Wednesday May 4, 2005 1:22:00 PM: Hi all, I would just like to confirm that everyone has seen my bid.
