Need a script to read from one table called , do some calculations, and write the resulting fields to a second table. I need to have this run on 30 pairs of tables. My idea for the design of the program is that there will be a constant declared at the top of the script which will point to the proper table. The constant will have a value of xxx and the table name wil be tbl_xxx. Each row in Table1 will be data for a day. The script should read the most recent row and make sure that the day is the “right” day. The right day is defined as today as measured by either NYC time or Tokyo time. There will be a constant at the top of the script which is set to either NYC or Tokyo and based on that value the script should use either NYC time or Tokyo time. If the script cannot complete or if it cannot find today’s data it will send an alert mail to the address . myName will be another constant defined at the top of the script. The script should be written so that it will be easy for me to add additional fields to write to. I cannot give you access to the database. You will have to send me the code using a generic database and I will test it. More detail is below Table2 will obtain all of its data from Table1 but will perform calculations like adding and subtracting fields from table1 to obtain a new value for table2. Also some of the values from table2 will be lagged values from table1. By lagged I mean that values for today in Table2 will come from k days prior values of Table1. I suggest creating a function which will look like this fieldWriter(string writeTo, int Lagfield1, double field1, int Lagfield2, double field2, int Lagfield2, double field3, …, int LagfieldN, double fieldN) where writeTo is the name of the field in Table2 to be written to, lagFieldJ is the number of periods back to find the value of fieldJ. using fieldWriter() will allow me to change the calculations later on if I want to. At the moment I want fieldWriter() to have 70 different default values. I will give you these calculations. Many of them are just lags of a single variable. I cannot give you access to the database. You will have to send me the code using a generic database and I will test it. The completion of this project requires documentation although it should be pretty simple since this is a simple script. By the way, By lag I mean 1 period before. So if the lag is -1 then the data from table 1 that I want is one period before the current period (1 row prior to the current row in the table)

Hello wekaman2011 I would like to tackle this project, even if somebody else has done it for you to gain some sort of an entry into freelancing, as this is my first post. I need to ask 3 or 4 questions regarding your detailed explaination as I see you're talking about pairs of tables, with input tables being tbl_xxx and then talking of table2..., different database names? Thanks for your time
