OCR - template free invoice reading

The program that has to be developed in Visual Basic 6 or C# is an unattended server application that recognises data from invoices (supplier, products, total amount, etc.) and the recognized data should be saved as XML. Recognition of data has to be **template free**. In addition to the server module, a desktop application is required where it should be possible to "fine tune" an invoice type (define the date-, amount-format etc.) for better recognition. The application should support multilingual interfaces based on dictionary files supplied with the OCR engine SDK. OCR recognition functions are allready within a OCR SDK. Feature summary: -Automatic Identification -Learns new documents automatically -Requires no invoice specific setup -Able to distinguish slight format variations -Works without logos or recognition -Rates match with confidence index -Rules-based Field Finding -Runs global rules on all invoices -Allows optional vendor-specific rules -Finds keywords with fuzzy matching -Finds fields by syntax, e.g. #PROD -Can use existing vendor list I'm looking for **somebody with experience** in template-free OCR reading/recognition and ideally, used the ScanSoft SDK. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
