Having served 9 years in the military and led soldiers on the battlefield, I was privileged to take the next step in corporate America.
I have had advanced training in effective communication, project management, meeting facilitation, conflict resolution/mediation, temperament theory/application, leadership development training, and project controls. Within the projects I assisted in, we managed cost, resource allocation, scope, project plan, risk management plan, time, stakeholder analysis and communication plan alongside project manager. We used Microsoft Project to manage 2 multi-million dollar software development projects and a $1.36 billion asset acquisition program. We facilitated daily corporate meetings for client teams and senior staff and built spreadsheets and presentations utilizing Microsoft Office Suite on Windows and Macintosh platforms. The primary work we were doing, however, was on an intangible level. We called them "ninja skills".
For me, that was the most important work because while you can find many process improvement techniques and best practices within corporations, you find minimal amounts of true individual and team development techniques and practices for the leaders. However, this is absolutely essential because business management is primarily people management. This is how I coach on an executive/corporate level, no matter the business size.
Effective communication with a servant leader mentality.
