This role involves swiftly acquiring ISSN numbers for journals from various countries to ensure their proper identification and indexing. Responsibilities: • Research and gather information about the ISSN issuing authorities in different countries. • Liaise with ISSN agencies and organizations worldwide to expedite the process of obtaining ISSN numbers for journals. • Review journal metadata and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness before submission for ISSN assignment. • Communicate effectively with journal editors, publishers, and stakeholders to gather necessary information for ISSN application. • Track and manage the ISSN application process for multiple journals simultaneously, ensuring timely completion. • Stay updated on international ISSN standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure compliance. • Provide guidance and support to internal teams and external partners on ISSN-related matters. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, Publishing, or a related field. • Strong knowledge of ISSN standards and procedures for journal identification. • Experience working with ISSN agencies or similar organizations preferred. • Excellent research skills and the ability to quickly locate information from diverse sources. • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders from different countries and cultural backgrounds. • Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus. • Familiarity with journal publishing processes and metadata standards is desirable.
