Redesign the first page

I am looking for someone to re-design the first page of a site. The page should be small, use pure XHTML and CSS and have the maximum impact visually as well as content wise to the first-time visitors! I will provide the site url only to those shortlisted. I am expecting to provide me with at least 2 mockups before awarding the project. If you don't have any feedback, or if you don't provide a link to your portfolio, your bid would be ignored. Please don't waste my time and yours if you don't have original ideas... The site has a financial theme, so please show me your best designs with this theme.
