Write SPSS syntax to generate outcomes in various 2x2 decision tables I want to look at decisions in 2x2 tables. I will refer to the 4 possible outcome categories as false negatives, false positive, true negatives, and true positives. I would like an SPSS syntax program that will do the following: 1. Generate random bivariate normal distributions of n = 1,000,000 for specified correlations 2. Set a cut point on both variables, for specified percentiles. 3. Count the number of cases in each of the 4 resulting outcome categories. I would like this done for the following values of r, x, and y Ten r values: .1, .2, .25, .3, .4, .5, .6, .7, .8, .9 Ten x cutoff values (in terms of percentiles): .05, .1, .2, .3, .4, 5, .6, .7 .8, .9 Nine y cutoff values (in terms of percentiles): .1, .2, .3, .4, .5, .6, .7, .8, .9 I would like the spss program to output 900 lines with the following information on each line: r, x, y, FN, FP, TN, TP For example, the first line would be for these values r =.1 x = -1.6449 y = -1.2816 The -1.6449 corresponds to the z score for a cumulative percent of .05 The -1.2816 corresponds to the z score for a cumulative percent of .1 I plan to use the output of your work as is but I also want to be able to use your spss syntax to run some similar simulations, such as using other distributions. Therefore, I would like the SPSS syntax file to be documented with some notes identifying the function or reason for the various major portions of the syntax file.
