Hi, I see you're looking for a native Italian translator for your project! Before becoming a freelance translator, I learned a lot about this job as a fansubber. I have created, translated and synchronized subtitles for TV shows, movies, stand-up comedy specials, etc. for 11 years on a website called ItalianSubs.net. We usually used a transcription we found on the Internet, but sometimes we had to transcribe the original audio ourselves. So the skills we needed to have were: transcription, translation (English to Italian) and subtitling. It may have looked like a simple hobby, but the organization of the work was very meticulous: we formed teams of subtitlers, each having to translate a number of lines; we brainstormed a lot while working on our translations; each team had a supervisor who coordinated everything and revised our work before publishing it; we had schedules to follow... It looked a lot like a real (fun) job! In my portfolio, you can find a few examples of my work as a translator. Like for example, articles about dogs' health and behavior and a baby photography presentation. I think what makes my work stand out (in these particular projects and in general) is my attention to detail: I did a lot of research about the topics I was translating and I made sure the layout of my translation reflected the one in the original text files.
